AZ- 500 – Microsoft Azure Security Technologies Exam – December 2019 Updates
As you may have heard, Microsoft recently made some changes to the AZ-500 course curriculum which you can download at https://query.prod.cms.rt.microsoft.com/cms/api/am/binary/RE3VC70
To summarize and save you going through the entire doc, the changes include the following:
Configure container instance security – REMOVED
This part of the exam has been removed. The Skylines Academy course currently includes a small section on understanding container security which you should still be aware of.
Configure Log Analytics
This has been removed but the concepts are now bundled into Azure Monitor. The Log Analytics lectures are still highly relevant and should not be overlooked. A new monitoring video will be updated to reflect UI and naming changes by Microsoft.
Data Authentication
Configure Azure AD authentication for Azure Storage
Configure Azure AD Domain Services authentication for Azure Files
These are additional adds given the advancements in Azure AD authentication for storage. Additional videos will be recorded for the course by the end of Q1 2020. You can read up on this section in the Microsoft documentation until then.
Configure RBAC usage in Azure Key Vault
Key Vault is already covered in the course but we will create updated videos focusing on RBAC usage by the end of Q1 2020.
Overall these changes are minimal, and the Skylines Academy course continues to cover all the core areas. Please use the links above to solidify your knowledge and expect to answer questions around these on the exam.
Please also continue to leverage the FB group for additional support from fellow students.
Good luck!
